(Academic) citation is a representational practice of hollow, ruined potential professional accumulation of intellectual capital.
“How honest can you be about your citational practice?” This is a question from the initial call for submissions that led me through a long and meandering reflection on my neglect to cite many books, databases, archival material, images and videos I referenced in a recent project. In this piece, consider the relationships offered by the manifesto around citations, standards, efficiency, and the erasure of networks of connections.
